Panthers Place Two On Academic All-League Team
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Dec. 12, 2008) - Senior Erin Magargee and junior Abbie Zaspel of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's cross country were named to the Horizon League's Academic All-League Team, the league office announced. Magargee and Zaspel were honored for their efforts on the course and in the classroom. Both runners were all-league first team honorees in November and led the Panthers to a runner-up finish, just eight points shy of first place. The duo was Milwaukee's top two runners throughout the season, with Zaspel finishing as the team's top runner at the first five meets of the season. Magargee was the team's second finisher at each of those meets and led the squad at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. At the Horizon League Championships, Zaspel finished fifth for her second-straight all-league award. Magargee was right behing in sixth place.
