Panthers Take 21st At NCAA Great Lakes Regional
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Nov. 15, 2008) - Senior Erin Magargee took 73rd place in her final collegiate meet to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's cross country team to a 21st-place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Saturday morning, hosted by Purdue University. The Panthers scored 574 points as the top competing Horizon League school. Michigan took top honors at the meet with 72 points. Every other league school, but Loyola, was at the Great Leakes Regional, with Butler as the next league school in 26th place. Magargee ran a time of 22:52 for 73rd place, while junior Abbie Zaspel was the next Milwaukee runner in 88th place. Zaspel crossed the line in 23:04. Sophomore Tanaiya Fisher and senior Danielle Magargee finished six seconds apart in 106th and 113th places. Fisher posted a time of 23:22 and Magargee was close behind in 23:28. Senior Elizabeth Brothen rounded out the team's scorers in 194th place and a time of 25:21. Freshmen Beonca Mitchell and Shannon Brown also ran, finishing consecutively in 218th and 219th. Mitchell ran a time of 26:32 and Brown finished in 26:36.
