Huebner Leads Panthers To Third At League MeetOct. 29, 2005
KETTERING, Ohio - Sophomore Angie Huebner took seventh-place to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's cross country team to its third-straight third-place finish at the 2005 Horizon League Championship Saturday in Kettering, Ohio. While the Panthers scored 82 points, Butler won its third-straight titles with 22 and Loyola took second with 69. UWM placed a runner on the all-league first team for the third-straight year, as Huebner placed seventh at the meet with a time of 18:07. She led all seven Panther runners among the top 26. Sophomore Holly Nearman just missed second-team honors with a 15th-place showing. She ran a time of 18:27, finishing just ahead of junior Kourtney Nault in 16th with a time of 18:36. Senior Griffin McNulty took 21st and freshman Megan Johnson took 23rd to round out the Milwaukee scorers. McNulty crossed the line in 18:53 and Johnson finished in 19:04, just one second ahead of senior Katie Anderson in 24th. Freshman Erin Magargee also ran for UWM, taking 26th in 19:09. UIC finished behind UWM with 115 points, ahead of Detroit in fifth with 156 and UW-Green Bay in sixth (178 points). Hosts Wright State (185), Youngstown State (190) and Cleveland State (215) completed the field. Milwaukee's season continues Nov. 12 at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. The University of Indiana hosts the event in Bloomington, Ind.
