Panthers Prepare For League Championships At Pre-NCAA's

Women finish 25th in Terra Haute

The UWM's women's cross country team finished 25th out of 29 teams at the Pre-National Invitational at Indiana State, in Terra Haute, Ind. on Saturday.

Abby Hurst led the Panthers with a 79th place finish, and 23:00 time on the 6k course. Finishing behind Hurst was Allison Shattuck with a time of 23:11. Both Hurst and Shattuck made large improvements over their finishes at the Pre-Nationals last season.

Rounding ot the scorers for Milwaukee was Katie Anderson (23:55), Katie Olander (24:24) and Anna Christian (25:01). Griffin McNulty also ran for Milwaukee, finishing at 25:07.

Julie Culey of Rutgers took first place individually with a time of 20:55.7, while BYU took first in team competition. BYU posted six runners in the top 11 finishers to pace the field that included fellow Horizon League teams Butler (18th), Youngstown State (20th) and Wright State (26th).

The Panthers will have two weeks off before returning to action at the Horizon League Championships, Nov. 2, in Chicago.
