Panthers Take Fifth At Falcon Invitational
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (Oct. 14, 2006) - Sophomore Holly Nearman placed 11th at the Falcon Invitational to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's cross country team to a fifth-place team finish at the meet Saturday afternoon in Bowling Green, Ohio. The Panthers finished with 126 points, while Akron took top honors at the 19-team meet with 67. Four more Horizon League schools competed in Bowling Green, as Youngstown State took 15th, Wright State 16th, Detroit 17th and Cleveland State 18th. Nearman posted a time of 18:33.49 to lead UWM. Senior Kourtney Nault also finished in the top-20 with a time of 18:39.29 for 14th place and junior Angie Huebner was just outside the top-20 in 21st with a time of 18:54.85. Sophomore Erin Magargee finished 23rd, crossing the line in 19:00.73, while sophomore Liz Brothen rounded out the scoring runners in 59th. She ran a time of 19:42.73. Ashley Rtchey from IPFW was the top individual finisher, posting a time of 17:56.15. Milwaukee ran three more runners, led by sophomore Danielle Magargee in 113th place (20:56.07). Freshman Erin Willis took 119th in 20:59.21 and freshman Laura Ring ran a time of 21:23.38 for 137th. This was the final tuneup for the Panthers before the Horizon League Championship Oct. 28 in Indianapolis, Ind.
