UWM Places Third At Bradley Invitational

PEORIA, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's cross country team scored 89 points to take third among seven Division I schools at the Bradley Invitational, Friday evening in Peoria, Ill. The Panthers trailed on Marquette (15 points) and Loyola (56) at the event.

Sophomore Angie Huebner was the top finisher for Milwaukee, taking eighth among Division I runners and 12th overall with a time of 18:27. Freshman Megan Johnson, who took first place in her collegiate debut last week at the UIC Home Opener, was the second Panther across the line in 20th place with a time of 18:57.

UWM's third runner was sophomore Holly Nearman, while senior Kourtney Nault was fourth. Nearman posted a time of 19:17 for 27th and Nault was just nine seconds behind in 31st (19:26). Seniors Griffin McNulty and Katie Anderson each posted a time of 19:58, with McNulty rounding out the scorers in 43rd and Anderson taking 44th place.

Freshman Danielle Magargee also ran, taking 108th with a time of 21:32.

Milwaukee gets its first taste of national competition, competing next at the Roy Griak Invitational, Sept. 24, in Minneapolis, Minn. The Griak Invitational annually draws some of the top teams in the nation, and is split up into several races.
