Felsing Named Honorable Mention All-American

Senior honored for second-straight year

Dec. 13, 2007

MILWAUKEE - Senior Leanne Felsing of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has earned American Volleyball Coaches Association honorable mention All-America honors for the second-straight year.

The senior led the country in triple-doubles this season while helping the Panthers to a school-record 26 wins and a fifth-straight Horizon League regular season title.

She is UWM's first two-time volleyball All-American since 1985, and it is just the fifth time a Panther volleyball player has earned All-America recognition since the school started Division I play in 1990. In all, Panther players have earned All-American status 10 times through NAIA and NCAA competition in the 34-year history of the volleyball program.

Felsing did it all for the Panthers this season, recording a national-best 18 triple-doubles while playing as both a setter and outside hitter. She was named the Horizon League Player of the Year after earning Horizon League's Offensive Player of the Week honors twice and College Volleyball Update National Player of the Week honors in October. In all, she finished her career with 25 career triple-doubles while standing as the only player in UWM history to collect at least 1,000 kills, 1,000 digs, 1,000 assists and 100 aces in a career.

Felsing has also excelled off the court, earning ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors last month and Horizon League Academic All-League recognition last week.
