MILWAUKEE - The UWM women's volleyball team remained fifth in the latest NCAA Midwest Region volleyball rankings, released today.

The Panthers (22-3) won a share of the regular season Midwestern Collegiate Conference championship, and have won 13 straight matches.

South Florida is the top team in the region, while Cincinnati moved back to number two. Louisville is third, while Houston holds down the fourth spot.

UWM owns five wins over teams ranked in the region, including victories over Cincinnati, Loyola, DePaul and two wins over Butler.

The Panthers return to action Saturday in a quarterfinal match at the MCC Tournament in Cleveland, Ohio. UWM faces Cleveland State at 11 a.m. The league's championship match is Sunday afternoon.
