Panthers Remain 7th In Midwest Region
Oct. 18, 2000 MILWAUKEE - UWM remained seventh in the latest NCAA Midwest Region volleyball poll, released Wednesday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The Panthers (13-3, 5-1 MCC) have been seventh in each of the polls so far this season. UWM will get a chance to move up in the poll in the next two weeks, facing three teams ranked ahead of them. Tonight, the Panthers play at DePaul, ranked fifth in the region. Saturday, top-ranked Cincinnati visits the Klotsche Center for a 7 p.m. match. Next Saturday at 4 p.m., the Panthers entertain sixth-ranked Loyola. Butler is the third MCC team in the top ten. The Bulldogs are ranked ninth. All three teams that have beaten the Panthers this season are also ranked in their region. Along with league-rival Loyola (6th), South Florida is third in the Midwest Region, and Ball State is 6th in the Mideast Region - the highest-ranked non-Big 10 team in that region.
