MILWAUKEE - For the second time this season, junior Laura Dallenbach has been named the Midwestern Collegiate Conference volleyball player of the week.

Dallenbach led the Panthers to an MCC sweep this past weekend, as UWM beat Butler 16-14, 16-14, 15-9 and Wright State 15-7, 15-5, 3-15, 15-11.

She led UWM with 20 kills and 20 digs in the win over Butler Friday, and she had three crucial plays in game one. With UWM trailing 12-11, Dallenbach recorded back-to-back service aces. Then, one of her kills broke a 14-all tie, leading to the 16-14 Panther win.

For the week, Dallenbach recorded 31 kills, 31 digs and four service aces. She is currently third in the league in kills, eighth in hitting percentage, and sixth in service aces.

Dallenbach was also named the league's player of the week Sept. 11 after leading UWM to the title of the Panther Invitational.

UWM returns to action Friday night at MCC rival Cleveland State. The Panthers (12-3, 4-1 MCC) enter the week a half-game behind MCC leader Loyola Chicago (9-7, 4-0).
