MILWAUKEE - UWM (10-3, 2-1 MCC) remained seventh in the latest NCAA Division I women's volleyball Midwest Region rankings, released today by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Houston (12-3) holds down the top spot in the region. MCC leader Loyola Chicago (7-6) is sixth. South Florida (11-4), which beat the Panthers earlier this season, is third.

Ball State, the other team to have beaten UWM this year, is seventh in the Mideast Region. The Cardinals are the highest-ranked non-Big Ten team in that region.

Along with remaining battles against ranked league rivals Loyola and UIC (ninth), the Panthers still have non-conference matchups with ranked Midwest Region squads Cincinnati (second, Oct. 21 @ Klotsche Center) and De Paul (fifth, Oct. 18 @ De Paul).

The Panthers, a two-time NCAA qualifier and winner of the last three regular season MCC titles, welcome league rival Butler (10-5, 2-0) to the Klotsche Center Friday at 7 p.m. Wright State (6-8, 1-1) visits Milwaukee Saturday.
