Sue Raschka Named MCC Volleyball Player of the Week

For the third time in four weeks, a UWM player has earned Conference Player of the Week honors.

MILWAUKEE - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee volleyball player senior Sue Raschka (MB, Chicago, Ill., Immaculate Heart of Mary) was named the MCC Volleyball Player of the Week, announced the league office today.

Raschka had the best all-around performance for the Panthers last week leading the team both offensively and defensively in its wins over Illinois State and Cleveland State. On the offense, Raschka nailed 34 kills, averaging 4.86 kpg, with a solid .394 hitting percentage (34-8/66). On defense, she had 15 digs, averaging 2.14 dpg, led the team in solo blocks with two and added six block assists, to average a team-high 1.14 bpg.

In individual matches, Raschka tallied 15 kills vs. Illinois State and racked up a team-high 19 kills vs. Cleveland State, with an impressive .429 hitting percentage (19-4/32). She also had two digs and one solo block in the match.

UWM has had two other players named the MCC Player of the Week so far this season. Laura Dallenbach (So., Waterloo, Iowa, West) earned the honor the week of Sept. 6, while Ericka Malterer (Sr., Waupun, Wis., Waupun) earned the honor the week of Sept. 13.
