CHICAGO - The UWM women's volleyball team went on the road Wednesday night to claim one of their biggest wins of the season, beating DePaul 12-15, 15-13, 15-12, 19-17.

The Blue Demons (15-7) entered the match ranked fifth in the Midwest Region, while the Panthers (14-3) were ranked seventh.

"It was a great match," coach Kathy Litzau said. "We played very well. DePaul is a good team. It was a real great team effort."

Junior Laura Dallenbach led a strong Panther attack with 30 kills, the second-most ever by a UWM player. Dallenbach hit a stellar .355 for the match.

Four other Panthers had at least 10 kills, including 18 apiece from freshman Sarah Potts and junior Chrissy Schurla.

Freshman Lindsey Spoden set up the attack with 82 assists, the third-most ever in Panther history.

UWM's defense was also strong. Dallenbach tallied 27 digs, while four other Panthers had at least 15 digs. UWM also had 20 blocks in the match, including nine block assists from Schurla and eight from Dallenbach.

UWM continues a busy week by starting a five-match homestand Friday night against in-state rival UW-Green Bay. Saturday, Cincinnati, ranked number one in the Midwest Region, visits the Klotsche Center.
