The UWM women's volleyball team used a strong attack to down Cleveland State, 16-14, 16-14, 15-11, in a Midwestern Collegiate Conference match Friday night in Cleveland.

The win moved the Panthers to 5-1 in the MCC and 13-3 overall. UWM trails only Loyola in the league standings.

Junior Laura Dallenbach led the Panthers with 17 kills, while freshman Sarah Potts added 12 kills and junior Chrissy Schurla added 10. The Panthers hit .236 as a team, and Schurla led the team with a .364 hitting percentage.

UWM's defense was also strong, limiting Cleveland State (9-9, 0-5) to a .175 hitting percentage. The Panthers recorded nine blocks, and Dallenbach led the way with 23 digs.

The Panthers now get ready for a busy week, starting with a matchup against regionally-ranked DePaul Wednesday night in Chicago. Friday night, the Panthers host UW-Green Bay. Saturday, regionally-ranked Cincinnati visits the Klotsche Center.
