Cattanach Leads UWM In Victory Over New Hampshire
Sept. 16, 2000 MILWAUKEE-Sophomore Larissa Cattanach guided the UWM women's volleyball team to victory over New Hampshire Saturday night in the Illinois Tournament, recording 12 kills and hitting .588. Cattanach also added five blocks as the Panthers beat the Wildcats, 3-0. The Panthers came out aggressive on offensive, hitting .325 as a team. As the match went along, UWM increasingly improved to win the games 15-8, 15-6, and 15-4. Freshman setter Lindsey Spoden continued her stellar performance in the tournament, tallying 42 assists and 14 digs against New Hampshire. Juniors Chrissy Schurla and Laura Dallenbach both added 11 kills for the Panthers.
Splitting the tournament with a win on Saturday and a loss from Friday's match against Ball State, UWM's record now stands at 7-2. The Panthers looks to add to their current success, as the team will play in their first conference match-up of the season away at UW-Green Bay on Friday, September 22nd, at 7 p.m.
