MILWAUKEE-The UWM women's volleyball team were defeated, 3-1, by Ball State in the Illinois Tournament on Friday in Champaign. Losing 7-15, 15-12, 12-15, and 5-15, the Panthers ended their four game winning streak with the match loss.

Junior outside hitter Laura Dallenbach led UWM with 15 kills while fellow Panther Tari Boutin played well for the team, adding 14 kills and hitting a .303 percentage. Freshman Sarah Potts and junior Chrissy Schurla each scored 13 kills, while freshman setter Lindsey Spoden recorded 61 assists and led UWM on defense with 15 digs.

Ball State's Megan Hammons led the Cardinals on both ends of the court with 24 kills and 13 digs. Susie Meshberger added 22 kills and an astounding .500 percentage, while setter Emily Salle had 61 assists.

On Saturday, the Panthers will play the loser of the Illinois-New Hampshire game in the consolation match of the Illinois Tournament at 6 p.m.
