Zimmerman Wins League Long Jump Title On Championships First Day

Junior Beth Zimmerman won a league title in the long jump to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's track and field team on the first day of the 2008 Horizon League Championships Thursday. Zimmerman gave Milwaukee its second league title, after junior Kory Olson's heptathlon crown last week, as the Panthers have 41 points at the halfway points of the league meet. Panthers Head To League Championships In Search Of Repeat

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's track and field team will head to Youngstown, Ohio, Thursday and Friday for the 2008 Horizon League Outdoor Championships. The Panthers are the reigning league outdoor champions and are in search of a fifth outdoor crown.
