Panthers Place Three On League All-Academic TeamApril 27, 2005 MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Senior Anna Christian and juniors Katie Slamka and Griffin McNulty of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee have been named to the Horizon League Women's Indoor Track and Field All-Academic team, the league announced today. Christian was also named to the cross country all-academic team after running to a second-straight first-team all-league award in the fall. During the indoor track season, she placed sixth in the 10,000m at the league meet. An architecture major, the Horicon, Wis. native has a 3.653 GPA. One of the team's more versatile athletes, Slamka placed among the top four in three events at the Horizon League Championsip. An outdoor league champion in the 400m hurdles, Slamka took third in the high jump and 60m hurdles, while placing fourth in the long jump, at this season's indoor meet. Hailing from Racine, Wis., she boasts a 3.743 GPA as a kinesiology major. McNulty shined during the indoor season, running to a league championship in the 1000m. She had topped both the preliminary heat and finals, while adding a top showing in the prelims of the 800m. Like Christian, McNulty is an architecture major and has maintained a 3.438 GPA. Christian and Slamka are repeat honorees, earning the honor last season, while McNulty is making her first selection to the 17-member squad.
