Frey Named Athlete of the WeekFeb. 25, 2003 MILWAUKEE - Senior Nicole Frey was named the Horizon League Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 23, the league office announced today. This marks the first time in her career that she has earned the league's weekly award. Frey set a new school and Klotsche Center record in the 200m dash at the UWM Pre-Conference Tune Up on Friday, finishing in 25.18. That time breaks the old school mark of 25.21, set by Nicole Wee in 2001, and the old track record of 25.40, set by Flatria Horne of Marquette in 1999. Frey also finished the 60m dash in 7.83, a personal best. Frey joins fellow senior Stephanie Kenesie as the only recipients of the league honor in 2003. Kenesie was named on Jan. 22 after her performance at the Carthage Invitational.
The Panthers return to action this weekend when they host the Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Klotsche Center Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's meet begins at 4 p.m. with the field events, and running preliminaries beginning at 7 p.m.
