Panthers' 800m Runners End Season At Regionals
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (May 26, 2006) - Senior Tenia Fisher finished 10th and junior Jeremy Majors 18th in the 800m to wrap their seasons for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's and women's track and field teams on the first day of the NCAA Mideast Regional, Friday in Knoxville, Tenn. Senior Josh Nygren remains the last Panther competitor at the meet, as he will run in the 3000m steeplechase Saturday at 8:10 p.m. Fisher ran a time of 2:09.37 in the women's 800m for third place in her heat and 10th overall. She missed qualifying for the finals by just 0.95 seconds. The winners of the four heats, as well as the next four times overall, advanced to Saturday's finals. Majors crossed the line in the men's event in 1:53.48 and was sixth in his heat and 18th overall. On the men's side, the top two finishers of each of the three heats advanced and were joined by the next two best times.
