Panthers Break Sprint Medley Record At Drake

DES MOINES, Iowa (April 28, 2007) - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's track and field team wrapped up its weekend in Iowa with a school-record performance in the sprint medley relay Saturday at the Drake Relays in Des Moines.

Senior Timeka Walker, sophomore Shannon Buttchen and freshmen Laura Ring and Kelsey Conrad combined on a time of 4:03.10 to place 17th in the event. The school standard had been 4:03.91, set at this same meet in 2005.

The regular season winds down next weekend, as the Panthers will be broken up amongst two "twilight" meets the next weekend. Some of the team will head to the Butler Twilight in Indianapolis, Ind., May 4-5. The meet will also feature the multi-events for the upcoming Horizon League Championships. The remainder of the squad will be in Madison, Wis., for the Wisconsin Twilight May 5.

The Horizon League Championships then follow May 10-11 in Indy.
