Walker's record Leads UWM Women At Last Chance QualifierMarch 5, 2005 SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Sophomore Timeka Walker added the school's 200m record to her resume to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's track and field team at the Alex Wilson Invitational this weekend in South Bend, Ind. Walker was one of three Panther women competing, while juniors Tenia Fisher and Stephanie Ray were just shy of breaking their own school records as well. Already the school record holder in the 60m, Walker crossed the line in the 200m with a time of 25.05 to establish the UWM indoor mark and finish ninth. Nicole Frey had previously held the mark of 25.19, set in 2003. The Milwaukee native also competed in the 60m, placing 11th in the preliminaries with her time of 7.75. Fisher, who set the school 800m record at this meet last year and broke it earlier this season, ran a time of 2:10.27 in placing 10th. That time is just 0.22 seconds off her Panther standard. In the pole vault, Ray finished with a final height of 11-11 3/4 for a seventh-place showing on Friday. Her height is just two inches off the school mark she established Feb. 18 (12-1 3/4). Ray has established Milwaukee's standard in the event two times this season. The Alex Wilson Invitational was a last chance qualifier for UWM, and marks the conclusion of the indoor track and field season. Milwaukee kicks off its outdoor season at the Raleigh Relays, March 25-26 in Raleigh, N.C.
