Printable Championship Bracket MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will open the 2006 Horizon League Women's Tennis Championships Saturday against the University of Illinois at Chicago. The Panthers, seeded eighth in the event, will face the top-seeded Flames at 8 a.m. CST at North Central High School in Indianapolis. During the regular season, UIC claimed a 7-0 win over UWM. The rest of the tournament seeding puts Youngstown State second, Butler third and Cleveland State fourth. Wright State is seeded fifth, Detroit is sixth and UW-Green Bay is seventh. The event uses a double elimination format, meaning the Panthers will play a second match Saturday regardless of the outcome against UIC. The championship and consolation bracket finals are Sunday morning. The winner of the championship receives an automatic berth into the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships. UWM has shown marked improvement in its second season under head coach Matt McCaskill. The four team wins the Panthers have recorded this season are the most since 2002-03, when they also claimed four match wins. Junior Elizabeth Angel has tied a school record with 16 singles victories, while three other players have at least seven singles win. On the doubles front, Margie Van Lieshout and Traci Litscher have teamed up for five wins, including three at #1 doubles.
