Litscher Signs Letter Of Intent With UWMApril 15, 2004 MILWAUKEE - Traci Litscher of Eau Claire, Wis., has signed a National Letter of Intent to play tennis at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Litscher is head coach Erika Wentz's first signee of 2004. Litscher is a four-time conference champion and a three-time all-state performer at Eau Claire Memorial High School. She has qualified for state four times, finishing as the runner-up in doubles twice. Her team has qualified for state all four years of her high school career, finishing as high as second, and she won 122 matches in her high school career, a school record. Also, she has been ranked as high as seventh in the Northern Section by the United States Tennis Association. Litscher has also excelled in the classroom, winning academic all-conference honors while compiling a 3.9 grade point average. She was the winner of the U.S. Army Scholar Athlete Award this year. "Traci will be a nice addition to the team next year," Wentz said. "She is an outstanding student, has USTA tournament experience and a strong high school background in both singles and doubles to increase the depth of our team. Eau Claire Memorial has been a perennial powerhouse in tennis for quite a few years. Traci brings a strong 'team player' attitude that we are looking for to solidify our program."
UWM plays its final regular season match of the season this weekend, hosting Illinois-Chicago at 1 p.m. The Panthers will then wrap up their season at the Horizon League Championships next weekend.
