MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee women's tennis team opened up its spring season at a dual tournament at Illinois State University. They had an easy win over Bradley, with a score of 7-2, but were defeated by both Illinois State and Valparaiso. The doubles team of sophomores Jackie Groehler (Watertown, Wis.-Waterttown H.S.) and Jamie Martin (Marshfield, Wis.-Marshfield H.S.), who ended the fall season with a record of 6-3, have continued their winning trend, starting the spring season with a 2-1 record. Overall, the Panthers are 1-2 for the season after their first weekend of play. The Panthers play next against UIC and Wright State, in Chicago, on April 10th.
