Panthers Look To Continue Winning Streak At UNIMarch 7, 2007
Printable Spring Season Results The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team looks to continue its three-match winning streak when it travels to Northern Iowa Sunday. The Panthers (8-5) rolled through three home matches last weekend, downing Wright State, Western Illinois and Bradley for their first three-match winning streak over Division I foes since 1997. Milwaukee is now looking to win four-straight matches for the first time since 1996. UWM's play last weekend was highlighted by three singles wins from freshman Kari Kastenholz and continued stellar play from freshmen Ali O'Neal and Kelly Drvaric. Kastenholz played the entire weekend at #2 singles, upping her spring record to 4-4 when playing in the #2 slot. Meanwhile, O'Neal and Drvaric teamed up to win all three of their doubles matches, improving to 5-2 in the spring. Each player also won a pair of singles matches, with Drvaric playing at #1 singles and O'Neal playing in the #4 slot. O'Neal now has a team-high 15 victories this season, with nine coming last fall and six coming this spring. Northern Iowa is playing three matches this weekend, taking on Northern Illinois and UIC in Rockford, Ill., before returning to Cedar Falls for its match Sunday with UWM. UNI is 6-0 this spring, winning its first five matches of the season by identical 7-0 scores. UWM will have two weeks off before its next match. The Panthers will take on Illinois State March 25 at Marquette.
