The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team returns to action with a pair of matches this weekend.

The Panthers will face defending Horizon League champion UIC in Chicago Friday afternoon before opening up their home schedule Saturday against IPFW.

The Flames have dropped their first five matches of the spring but are still considered to be one of the favorites in this year's Horizon League title chase. IPFW (5-5) has faced a number of Horizon League teams so far this season. The Mastadons own two wins over Cleveland State and a victory over Wright State, while they have lost to UW-Green Bay and Detroit.

UWM (5-4) has recorded a solid start to the spring season. This past weekend in Green Bay, the Panthers recorded their first-ever win over the Phoenix before falling to Xavier. Freshmen Kelly Drvaric, Ashley Schoneman and Ali O'Neal each have four singles wins this spring alone, with Schoneman and O'Neal each up to 13 total wins this season.

Milwaukee continues to look for improvement on the doubles side. The Panthers have won just four doubles matches this spring and have won the doubles point just once in seven spring contests.

Saturday home match with IPFW, which starts at 4 p.m. at North Shore Elite, kicks off a stretch of four-straight home contests. Wright State, Western Illinois and Bradley play in Milwaukee next weekend.
