McCaskill Hired As New Tennis Coach

Joins UWM staff for spring season

Jan. 27, 2005

MILWAUKEE - Matthew McCaskill has been hired as the new women's tennis coach at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, athletic director Bud Haidet announced today.

McCaskill currently serves as the Director of Tennis at the Racine Country Club after serving for three years as the Director of Junior Tennis at the Western Racquet Club in Elm Grove. He has also worked as a tennis professional at the St. Louis Country Club and the Forest Lake Tennis Club while also working as the Director of Tennis at both the Whitmoor Country Club and the Westborough Country Club.

McCaskill was a 4A Tennis State Champion at DeSmet Jesuit High School in Missouri and played tennis collegiately at Marquette. He has been a U.S.P.T.A. Certified Tennis Instructor since 1992 and also won a men's USAT National Championship in 1998.

McCaskill replaces Mara Lencina, who resigned earlier this month due to personal reasons.
