Sept. 18, 2005

Final Stats

PEORIA, Ill. - After a strong first day at the Bradley Invitational, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team found the going tougher on day two of the event.

In fact, the Panthers were able to claim just one win in 12 matches on the day, though UWM players posted competitive efforts in some other matches.

The second day of the event saw UWM face off with Bradley and IUPUI in doubles and Western Illinois and Bradley in singles. The one Panther win came from Elizabeth Angel, who claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win over Jess Sampias of Bradley in singles.

The other most competitive matches of the day included a 9-8 doubles loss by Lauren Fenley and Tracy Olson to a team from IUPUI, and a three-set singles loss by Margie Van Lieshout to Andrea Courtney of Western Illinois.

UWM continues the fall portion of its schedule in two weeks at the Ball State Invitational.
