UWM falls to Butler, Youngstown State to bow out of tourney

INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team dropped a pair of matches on the opening day of the Horizon League Championships, falling to Butler and Youngstown State to bow out of the tournament.

In the morning, UWM fell to Butler, 4-0, as the Bulldogs took the doubles point along with No. 2-4 singles. The afternoon match went much the same, as sixth-seeded Youngstown State opened by winning No. 2 and No. 3 doubles before collecting wins at No. 2, 3 and 5 singles.

Butler will take on UIC for the Horizon League Championship and the league's automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament tomorrow morning. UW-Green Bay will take on Wright State for third place, while Youngstown State and Detroit will square off for fifth-place honors.
