MILWAUKEE - Alyssa Halcomb picked up three wins on the weekend, including a sweep of her singles matches, as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team split a pair of road matches on Saturday. The Panthers beat IP-Fort Wayne Saturday morning in a non-league match, 4-3, before falling to Horizon League foe Detroit in Detroit by a 5-2 count.

Halcomb opened the day with a win over IPFW's Francesca Solari, 6-4, 6-4, and defeated Detroit's Renee Kuzava, 6-4, 6-3, before teaming with Margie Van Lieshout to collect a win over Kuzava and Bianca Savarino at No. 1 doubles, 8-5. Van Lieshout also picked up a win, defeating Savarino, 6-4, 6-3, for UWM's other win against the Titans.

Against the Mastadons, Cassie Kuranz picked up a win at No. 4 singles, defeating Michelle Humphrey, 6-0, 6-0. Melissa Hackett collected the win at No. 6 singles, winning by default. UWM clinched the match with the doubles point, as Kuranz and Tammie Spiel won at No. 2 doubles, 9-7, and Erin Felber and Hackett won at No. 3 doubles by default.

The Panthers return to the court this weekend with a pair of league matches Saturday. UWM will face Butler at 9 a.m. before taking on Wright State later that afternoon in Indianapolis.
