Women's tennis team falls to reigning league champs, 7-0

MILWAUKEE - The UWM tennis team fell to the reigning Horizon League champion UIC Flames Saturday afternoon at the Pleasant Valley Tennis Club in Jackson by a 7-0 margin.

The Flames swept all three doubles matches by an 8-0 count and took all six singles matches in straight sets. Tammie Spiel had the strongest match for the Panthers, falling in first singles to Nicole Derouin, 6-2, 6-1. Molly Caulk, Megan Brown and Shauna Jansen all fell by 6-0, 6-1 scores.

UWM returns to action next Sunday when they travel to Cleveland to take on Cleveland State. The Panthers' final home match will be held on April 21 against Butler at a site to be determined.
