FULLERTON, Calif. - Southern Utah University claimed a 6-1 win over the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Saturday in the Panthers' opening match of their spring trip to California.

SUU swept the three doubles matches and won five of six singles matches in straight sets to claim the win.

UWM's lone win came in second singles, where Tammie Spiel beat Lisseth Hoyos 6-2, 6-2.

The Panthers continue their trip Sunday with a match against UC Riverside.
