UWM Falls to Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee dropped the first of its two road matches Friday night, as they dropped a 7-0 decision to the Ball State Cardinals. The Panthers look to get back on track Saturday, as they will take on IUPUI in Indianapolis.

Tammie Spiel and Megan Brown were unable to keep their doubles win streak alive, as they dropped a close 8-4 match to Ball State's tandem of Wieman/Thompson.

Ball State was lead by the strong play of Melissa Roach. Roach, playing the in the #1 singles spot, defeated UWM's Margie Van Lieshout, 6-1 and 6-1. Roach also played the #1 doubles slot, as she teamed with Katie Owen to beat UWM's Cassie Kuranz and Margie Van Lieshout.

The Panthers will continue with their Indiana road trip Saturday, as they will take on IUPUI at 3 p.m. CST.
