PEORIA, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team recovered from losing the doubles point by claiming five of six singles matches to capture a 5-2 win over Bradley Friday afternoon.

The Panthers (8-6) have now won three-straight contests heading into a key league matchup with Detroit Saturday.

Perhaps the most important singles win came in the third spot, with Kari Kastenholz pulling out a three-set victory. After losing the first set, 7-6, she bounced back to win the final two sets, 7-6 and 10-8.

Kelly Drvaric, Martina Schnapp, Sammi Schoen and Jenna Felsher also captured singles wins for UWM, while Drvaric and Kastenholz did team up for a doubles victory.

"We came out flat in the doubles. Some of our health issues seem to show up there, because we are not playing well," UWM head coach Matt McCaskill said. "But we really redeemed ourselves in singles play. It was a nice win by Kari at number three because of how tight that match was, and now we'll get ready for a big match with Detroit tomorrow."
