CLEVELAND, Ohio - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee dropped a 5-2 decision to Cleveland State Sunday afternoon in Horizon League women's tennis action.

Senior Cassie Kuranz was the only Panther to collect a singles victory, winning 6-4 and 6-1 at the #5 slot.

There were three Panthers who dropped close, three set matches.

"Singles got a little tired," head coach Erika Wentz said. "We had our opportunities today, we just couldn't close out points."

In doubles play, the Panthers received one team point thanks to two victories. Playing in the #2 spot, Tammie Spiel and Megan Brown won a decisive 8-2 decision, while Kristen Bauknecht and Melissa Hackett won a close 8-6 match, playing the #3 spot.

"Doubles really stepped it up compared to yesterday," Wentz said.

The Panthers return home next Saturday as they host Bradley University.
