Women's Tennis Falls Twice

UWM drops to Northern Illinois and Valparaiso

MILWAUKEE - The UWM women's tennis team dropped a pair of decisions over the weekend to Northern Illinois and to Valparaiso. UWM fell to NIU by a 7-0 margin, while falling to Valpo by a 6-1 count.

Julie Heling had the only victory for the Panthers over the weekend, winning in fifth singles against Valparaiso's Sarah Engelbert, 6-4, 2-6, 10-6.

UWM also made up a match with UW-Green Bay on Feb. 15 that was originally scheduled for Oct. 13. The Panthers fell to their in-state rivals by a 7-0 margin, with Megan Brown coming the closest to claiming victory. Brown lost to UWGB's Alexis Watson, 6-4, 6-4.

The Panthers return to the courts this weekend when they take on Eastern Illinois on Sunday at the Pleasant Valley Tennis Club in Jackson, Wis. The match begins at 10 a.m.
