ROCKFORD, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Northern Illinois University Saturday afternoon at Rockford Boylan High School.

The Panthers were shorthanded in the match, playing without No. 1 singles player Margie Van Lieshout.

UWM is now 0-2 in the early going of its spring season.

"Since we were missing Margie everyone had to play up a spot and play against tougher competition," head coach Matthew McCaskill said. "Everyone played hard and competed but we came up short."

UWM plays two home matches next weekend, hosting Northern Iowa Saturday and Chicago State Sunday.
