SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Two Panthers placed in the finals of diving events at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's and women's diving teams opened competition at the Notre Dame Invitational Thursday night in South Bend. UWM is competing in diving events only, while the meet features swimming events as well.

Sophomore Crystal Szymanski was Milwaukee's top finisher on day one, placing second in the finals of the one-meter event. She scored 233.70 points in the finals of the six-dive event.

On the men's side, Jeff Jasinowski competed in three-meter diving, and placed eighth in the finals. The junior captain tallied a score of 366.25 over 11 dives.

The action at the Notre Dame Invitational continues on Friday with the women's three-meter diving while the men compete from the one-meter board on Saturday. Panther swimmers open the Wheaton Invitational on Friday in Wheaton, Ill. That meet runs through Saturday.
