Women's team comes in at No. 10

Nov. 21, 2006

MILWAUKEE - The first poll of the CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Dual Meet Championship was released on Tuesday and both of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee swimming & diving teams appear in the Top 25. The men's team is No. 15, while the women have cracked the Top 10, sitting at No. 10.

The polls have the Harvard women and the Navy men occupying the top spot in the inaugural dual-meet rankings for the 2006-07 season. The CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Rankings are a measure of dual-meet strength as measured by an objective scoring system.

The women's point total of 164.75 is less than 12 points out of first and is also the highest total of any Horizon League team. Wright State is the only other league team in the rankings, landing at No. 14.

For the men, Milwaukee's 156.85 point total placed 15th, about 25 points behind Navy. Wright State (No. 11) was again the only other league team in the rankings, with future league-foe Valparaiso at No. 25.

According to CollegeSwimming.com, the dual meet rankings use an objective point system to compare teams' relative strength in a traditional 16-event dual line-up. They do not reflect a team's ultimate finish at the NCAA Championships.
