SCOUTING THE MEET:
The Panthers will swim against two Horizon League members that they have traditionally done very well against in dual meets. UWM holds a perfect 7-0 mark all-time against Butler and has gone 12-4 all-time in its NCAA Division I history against UIC. Butler has started very slowly this season, going 0-5 in duals to this point, but has shown improvement each meet. The Bulldogs were swept in a double-dual last time out, falling to Illinois State, 188-42, and to Youngstown State, 165-60 Nov. 3. UIC opened the season with a victory over Eastern Illinois, but has dropped each of its last two meets. Wright State topped them Oct. 26 and Northwestern downed the Flames, 152-83, last time out. Freshman Kelly Hoshoian has made an immediate impact, setting a school record in the 1,000 freestyle in just her second collegiate meet.

LAST TIME IN THE POOL:
Molly Finn and Kelsey Ogle each won two events to lead Milwaukee to a 137-68 victory over Wheaton College. The Panthers won eight of 11 events overall against the Thunder for their first win of the season. UWM improved its all-time record against Wheaton, an NCAA Division III school, to 14-3.

Finn posted her first multi-win meet of the season, topping the field in the 200 butterfly and the 200 IM. In the 200 fly, she won in 2:09.62, leading the way for UWM to take four of the top five spots. Freshman Amanda Nelson was second in 2:12.54, with junior Kelsey McDonough fourth in 2:19.61 and senior Briana Fergusson fifth in a time of 2:20.04. Finn also won the 200 IM, touching the wall in a season-best 2:11.22. Sophomore Bailey Nennig was second, also posting a season-best time of 2:14.46.

Ogle paced the 200 freestyle for UWM, winning in a time 1:58.45. She also recorded a victory in the 500 free, winning by almost five seconds in a season-best 5:15.99.

LAST YEAR:
Lindsay Caldwell, Emily Duesler, Molly Finn, Shannon Berndt and Alex Nelson all recorded multiple wins to help the women to victories against both Butler and UIC. The Panthers routed the host Bulldogs, 223-63, and also topped UIC, 201-85.

Caldwell and Finn each won three events, while Duesler, Finn, Berndt and Nelson recorded two wins each on the day.

Caldwell won the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events, all in season-best times. Finn continued her hot start to her sophomore season, winning the 400 IM and both of the butterfly events to give her eight wins in 10 races. Duesler dominated the diving events, picking up her fifth and sixth wins of the season by sweeping both boards. Berndt and Nelson continue their solid starts to their freshman seasons. Berndt won both breaststroke events, touching the wall in 1:07.58 in the 100 and a season-best 2:26.40 in the 200. Nelson extended her personal win streak in the 1000 freestyle to two in a season-best 10:49.44 and won the 500 free in 5:21.15, also a season-best.

UP NEXT:
Milwaukee will be off until the end of the month. The swimmers will head to the Wheaton Invitational and the divers will hit the road for the Miami (OH) Invitational at that time. Each of those meets is scheduled for Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
