SCOUTING THE MEETS: Saturday will make for an interesting storyline, as UWM head coach Dave Griffore returns to Eastern Michigan, the school he spent six successful years in roles of graduate assistant, associate coach and assistant coach for the Eagles. UWM will then look to defend back-to-back team titles at the UIC Invite Sunday. AGAINST WISCONSIN:
Senior Jess Kelly, junior Kate Riebe, sophomore Kerry Rossow and freshmen Amanda Nelson and Kelsey Ogle each placed second on the night. The Panthers went up against some stiff competition, opening against Big Ten foe Wisconsin, which has won all three of its duals to start the season. In fact, the Badgers have won 38 of the 42 events in its 3-0 start after defeating Milwaukee, 166-72. LAST YEAR: In addition to those victories, Milwaukee also received wins from junior Jess Kelly, freshman Megan Skiba and the 400 freestyle relay team. Caldwell took home wins in the 200 and 100 freestyle, with her time in the 100 nearly setting a new Klotsche Natatorium record. She won the 200 in 1:55.01 and then followed that up with a time of 52.16 in the 100. That just missed the record of 51.84, set by Caldwell last year. Duesler helped pace the UWM diving efforts, winning both boards going way. On the one-meter, her score of 258.08 won by over 34 points. She then topped that on the three-meter, setting a personal-high with 293.48, winning by over 75 points and topping her old best of 283.25. That total was also an NCAA Zone qualifying score. Finn also had two wins, taking the victory in the 200 IM and 200 butterfly. UP NEXT: |
