MILWAUKEE - Junior Lindsay Caldwell of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's swimming team was named to the Academic All-District Second Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced Thursday.

Caldwell had a prolific junior season in the pool, earning Swimmer of the Meet and Swimming/Diving Athlete of the Year honors at the 2006 Horizon League Championships in late February. She won league titles in the 50 and 100 freestyle and finished second in 100 breaststroke, setting a league record in the 100 free and as part of four record-breaking relay teams at the event. She was nearly unbeatable, winning 30 of 35 races on the season, including a nearly four-month span where she won 26-straight times. She currently holds nine UWM and three Horizon League records.

Other honors this season included being named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team, a member of the CSCAA All-Academic squad and appearing in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" in January.

Caldwell was one of just three Horizon League student-athletes to be named to the two ESPN The Magazine at-large teams on Thursday.
