Caldwell Named Second Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-DistrictMay 24, 2007 MILWAUKEE - Senior Lindsay Caldwell of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's swimming team was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced Thursday. Caldwell wrapped up a prolific career in the pool at Milwaukee this past season by earning Horizon League Championship Swimmer of the Meet honors for the third straight time. She won 28 of 34 races on the season, took second in three others and did not lose a race in the 50 freestyle or 100 freestyle after Oct. 14 - a span of 19 straight victories. She claimed four league titles as a senior (50/100/200 freestyle & one relay) to bring career total to 13 (eight individual and five relay). She leaves the program holding 16 records (11 school/five league). In the classroom, this marks the second-consecutive season she has been named Second Team Academic All-District by CoSIDA. She has also earned CSCAA academic honors two-straight years and was Horizon League Scholar Athlete of the Week twice in 2006-07. Other honors this spring include being named the 2006-07 UWM Female Athlete of the Year and an appearance on the Horizon League All-Academic Team for the third-straight season. Caldwell, a journalism and mass communications major with a 3.57 GPA, was the only Horizon League student-athlete to be named to the two ESPN The Magazine at-large teams on Thursday.
