MILWAUKEE, Wis. - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee head women's swimming and diving coach Dave Clark has announced the signing of two high school seniors to National Letters of Intent today. Molly Finn of Pewaukee, Wis. and Kelsey McDonough of St. Paul, Minn. will enroll at UWM and compete for the Panthers in 2005-06.

Finn was named the WIAA Division 2 Swimmer of the Year this past season at Waukesha Catholic Memorial High School. During her final prep season, she won both the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke, giving her four state championships in her career. As a junior, she won the 200 IM and was runner up in the 100 butterfly, while winning the 100 fly and finishing second in the 200 IM as a sophomore.

"Molly is one of the best swimmers to come into the UWM program," Clark said. "She is talented in multiple events, but is best at the college distances. Molly will have a huge impact, not only on our team, but also in the league. She is a proven winner as a student-athlete from a solid background."

McDonough lettered six seasons at St. Paul Central High School, earning team awards for most valuable and most dedicated. In the pool, she was named to the all-conference team and won a sectional championship. Also a state qualifier, McDonough served as team captain.

"Kelsey is an excellent student-athlete," Clark said. "She was on varsity in seventh grade and holds many of her school's records. Kelsey is a much better swimmer at the college distances and will aid our fly and distance group this next year."

The Panthers finished third at the 2005 Horizon League Championships and return the league's Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet in sophomore Lindsay Caldwell and Outstanding Diver of the Meet in junior Erin Blemberg next season.
