UWM Swimming & Diving Teams Named CSCAA Academic All-AmericaApril 7, 2006 MILWAUKEE - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced its Academic All-America teams recently and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's and women's swimming & diving teams were both among the schools on the prestigious list. The Panthers were one of only three Horizon League schools to make the list on the women's side and one of two on the men's. The inclusion of each extends established streaks for the UWM swimming & diving program. The women have now been honored for 33-straight semesters with their 3.01 GPA this past fall. UIC and Butler were other league schools to make the cut. On the men's side, Milwaukee earned the distinction for the ninth-straight semester, with its 3.04 GPA ranking 24th. The only other league team to make the men's list was Butler. "No matter how many times we make the Academic All-America list it is always exciting," Milwaukee head coach Dave Clark said. "This consistency shows that the student athletes at UW-Milwaukee have the proper priorities when it comes to academics. I look forward to many more times on this elite list." The lists, consisting of all divisions, were comprised of 275 teams from 170 institutions. At the NCAA Division I level, Eastern Michigan led the way in the women's side with a 3.56 GPA. For the men, it was Yale with a 3.42 GPA.
