Two Panthers Set To Compete At NCAA Zone C Diving Meet This Weekend

Divers will be attempting to qualify for NCAA Championships

MILWAUKEE - Two members of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's diving team are set to participate in the 2007 NCAA Zone C Diving Championships this weekend at the Dick Kimball Diving Pool on the campus of the University of Michigan. The divers will be attempting to qualify for the NCAA Championships held March 8-10 in Minneapolis, Minn.

The senior duo of Crystal Szymanski and Emily Duesler will be participating Friday and Saturday. They are coming off a very successful showing at the Horizon League Championships, where Szymanski won the one-meter event and took second on the three-meter en route to Outstanding Diver of the Meet honors. Duesler took claimed a victory on the three-meter board and placed fifth on the one.

Szymanski will be making her third-straight appearance at the regional, while Duesler is back for the second-consecutive appearance of her career.

EVENT SCHEDULE
Friday, March 2: Three-meter preliminaries at 11 a.m. / finals at 1:45 p.m.
Saturday, March 3: One-meter preliminaries at 11 a.m. / finals at 1:45 p.m.

Admission to the NCAA Zone Qualifying meet is free. In the one-meter and three-meter preliminaries, competitors will do six optional dives from different groups and repeat one of these groups. The top 18 divers then advance to the finals in the same format. The scores of the preliminaries and finals will be added together to get the final results for the contests.
