Szymanski Chosen As Horizon League Diver Of The WeekFeb. 1, 2006 MILWAUKEE - Junior Crystal Szymanski of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's diving team has been named the Horizon League Diver of the Week, the league office announced today. Szymanski is the third Milwaukee diver to earn the weekly recognition this season, joining teammates Emily Duesler and Erin Blemberg as league award winners. The honor is a career-first for Szymanski. She became the latest Panther to sweep the diving events at the same meet, topping the field at the Western Illinois dual on both boards last weekend (Jan. 28). She scored 264.38 points on the three-meter board and 248.10 on the one-meter to earn victories in each, helping lead UWM to a 157-84 victory. Today's award is the 13th of the season for the women's swimming & diving team. Junior Emily Duesler (Diver of the Week Oct. 26), senior Julie Olson (Swimmer of the Week Oct. 12), junior Lindsay Caldwell (Swimmer of the Week Dec. 7 and Nov. 22), senior Erin Blemberg (Diver of the Week Jan. 25, Jan. 18, Nov. 22, Nov. 9, Nov. 1 and Oct. 16) and freshman Molly Finn (Swimmer of the Week Jan. 25 and Oct. 19) have also been honored by the Horizon League in addition Szymanski's honor today.
