NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Hannah Burgard finished fifth on 3m to provide UWM with its highest finish in diving at the Notre Dame Invitational over the weekend. Becky Rubel chipped in with a pair of to eight finishe for the Panthers.

Burgard's score of 393.90 put her in fifth place to lead four UWM divers to top-eight finishes in the event. Krystina Herzog finished sixth on the same board with a score of 387.90, followed by Rubel in seventh with 386.85 points. Erin Blemberg was eighth, scoring 345.10 points, while Erin Hallen ended up 12th with a score of 324.65.

The Panthers also had some strong showings on the 1m board, led by Rubel's seventh-place finish. Rubel tallied 216.00 points to lead all UWM divers, followed by Blemberg's 202.95 in ninth place. Burgard was 14th with 185.35 points, with Hallen in 16th with 177.40 and Herzog in 20th with 169.55 points.

For the men, Jeff Jasinowski finished eighth on 3m with a score of 333.65. Jasinowski did not compete on 1m on the weekend due to injury.

The divers will have their next competition at the Bill Ritter Invitational on Jan. 24 at 11 a.m. The diving competition will be held at Schroeder YMCA in Brown Deer, Wis.
