Panther Men Win, Women Second At Wheaton Invitational
Dec. 8, 2002 WHEATON, Ill. - Three school records fell on the men's side and Josh Baseheart earned NCAA B qualifying marks in two events this weekend as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's swimming team collected top honors at the Wheaton Invitational. The women's team finished second behind Wheaton at the meet. Baseheart broke the school records in the 50 and 200 freestyles and set a meet record in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyles, though only for a short time in one. In the 50, he finished prelims with a time of 20.68, which broke the school record of 20.75, set by Chris Weiss in 1988. In the final of that event, he broke his record again, this time finishing in 20.66, but was edged out by Brandon Deters of Grand Valley State, who finished in 20.57.
